Map Walkthrough
This is a Walkthrough of the general features of a map, such as The Map Layout, Power, Pack-a-Punch, etc. along with Kino Der Toten specific features
The Map Layout
When you spawn in Kino Der Toten, you are presented with the classic spawn layout; you are in a large room with two wallbuy weapons (M14 & Olympia | 500 points each), Quick Revive (Solo: 500 points | Co-op: 1500 points), the teleporter pad and four zombie barriers. This is the room with two directions you can take.
The next section of this map layout walkthrough will be split into left and right and then regroup at the stage area.
Left
To go left you will have to open a 750 points door which opens a room with a fire trap (1000 points), a mystery box location, two zombie barriers and a wallbuy weapon (MPL | 1000 points). The next door costs 1000 points.
The next area has three zombie barriers, Double Tap (2000 points), a wallbuy weapon (AK74u | 1200 points) and a box location. The next door costs 1250 points.
The next area has three zombie barriers, an electric trap (1000 points) and a mystery box location. The next door costs 1250 points and takes you to the stage area.
Right
To go left you will have to open a 750 points door which opens a room with an electric trap (1000 points), a mystery box location, four zombie barriers and a wallbuy weapon (PM63 | 1000 points). The next door costs 1000 points.
The next area has four zombie barriers, Speed Cola (3000 points), a remote turret trap, two wallbuy weapons (Stakeout | 1500 points & MP40 | 1000 points) and a box location. The next door costs 1250 points.
The next area has three zombie barriers, a mystery box location and a wallbuy weapon (MP5 | 1000 points). The next door costs 1250 points and takes you to the stage area.
Stage
The stage area is one of key areas of the map and is excellent for camping. The stage area contains a mystery box location, claymore wallbuy (1000 points), a wallbuy weapon (M16 | 1200 points), two zombie barriers and an electric trap (1000 points).
One side of the stage has a curtain which can be drawn back by going to the power switch and activating it which opens the centre of the map. This also allows Nova 6 crawlers to spawn.
Center
The centre of the map contains two zombie spawns aswell as areas for Nova 6 crawlers to spawn. The area also includes Juggernog (2500 points), the teleporter, a turret trap (1000 points), a mystery box location and the bowie knife wallbuy (3000 points).
There is also a stair case that leads to the spawn room with an electric trap (1000 points).

Power
To activate the power, you must simple locate the power switch in the stage area. Please see the Map Layout section of this post for a guide on how to do that!
Other than reaching the power switch, the power is free to activate and incredibly easy.

Pack-a-Punch
To active Pack-a-Punch and Pack-a-Punch your weapons you must first turn on the power.
Once you have turned on the power, you must go to the teleport and press your activation button, then proceed to spawn and do the same on the teleport pad. This will link them.
You will then be able to go back to the teleporter, press your activation button and you will be taken to the projector room AKA the Pack-a-Punch room.
In this area, you will be able to Pack-a-Punch, shoot zombies, buy grenades and interact with the projector. No Zombies can attack you here.
Special Zombies
Zombie Type | Ability | Health |
---|---|---|
Nova 6 Crawlers | Attack Players & Explode | Lower than Zombies |
Dogs | Attack Players | Lower Than Zombies |
Nova Crawler Info
Health
- The Health of Nova Crawlers is identical to a normal Zombie, and is then multiplied by .75x.
Damage
- Nova Crawlers deal 45 Damage per hit to the player, no matter the Round. When a Nova Crawler explodes near a Zombie, it will take 1.05% of the Zombie's total HP.
Spawn Rates
- Nova Crawlers begin to spawn only after the Power is activated. Sadly I do not have the spawn rates of Nova Crawlers, this is something that I'm actively looking for. I will report back and edit this post if they are found.
Special Rounds
The "Special Round" on Kino Der Toten are the Dog rounds. These rounds typically happen every 4 - 7 rounds and during them, only a wave of Dogs will spawn opposed to any other Zombie type.
Once you survive this round and kill all of the dogs, the players are rewarded with a Max Ammo.

Easter Eggs
This is a walkthrough of all of the Easter Eggs in Kino Der Toten
Samantha's Lullaby (Zombies Chronicles)
-
Go to the Alleyway and there will be a Blue Door that knocks occasionally. What you must do is listen to his knocking pattern and knock back the same pattern he knocks 3 times by knifing the blue door. Here are the possible knocking combinations:
- 115
- 935
- 666
- 143
- 624
- 321
- 534
- 241
- 512
-
Once you have done that head over to the theater and in front of the stage on the right side there will be a Samantha Doll on the ground. Interact with it.
-
There will now be Samantha Dolls that spawn around the map. Here are the following locations:
- On a light outside the upstairs room next to Spawn
- To the right of Juggernog
- In a seat in front of Juggernog
- On the left in front of the stage next to the teleporter
- On the right side of the theater on the upper level of seats
- In the window of the Pack-a-Punch projector room
-
Head over to the theater and in front of the stage on the right side and the Samantha Doll will be there once again. Interact with it and you will receive a Max Ammo and the song "Samantha's Sorrow" will play.
Monty Radio (Zombies Chronicles)
Kino Der Toten, Theater of the Dead. I don't know why it wasn't "Untoten", but I suppose the whole living dead thing is something of an oxymoron. Mmmh, I like that word, "oxymoron". It's been very useful in trying to indentify all the contradictory chaos I've had to untangle. Anyway, Group 935 were back to their old tricks, but in an old cinema, I don't know why, maybe they wanted to watch some old movies. That was where you first saw the House, wasn't it? Well, part of it anyway; Samantha's room. Remember, you probably don't trust me, have a look, it's there alright.
Film Reels
When teleporting, you may be taken to rooms such as Samantha's room or a dentistry where there are film reels on the tables, beds, floor, etc. which you can pick up (activation button).
Once you have obtained them, you can go to the Pack-a-Punch room and insert them into the project which will play a new film containing storyline hints.
Elena Siegman - 115 Song (Music Easter Egg)
To activate this music easter egg, you must press your activation button on three pieces of the small orange meteorite. The locations are:
- Spawn room inside of a glass casing on the bottom floor
- In the chamber above the stage with the electric trap on a shelf
- In the chamber next to the stage with the MP5 on the table with a statue.
Once you press on all of those three pieces (in any order), the song 115 by Kevin Sherwood and Elena Siegman will begin playing. This can only be activated once per game.
Launching the Pentagon Room Rocket
- Jump in front of the Mannequin to the left of the Mystery Box in the Dressing Room at least 5 times
- Teleport to the Pentagon room
- Interact with the Rocket on the table, it should then launch off into the ceiling.
Tips and Tricks
This is a guide to all the different Tips & Tricks in Kino Der Toten, including survival tactics, strategies & more
Strategies
There are so many strategies in Kino Der Toten! Due to the age the map, the best way to find strategies is simply to use YouTube or Google. If you would like to contribute a text guide, please message me the guide privately, I'll add it to this post, and you will be credited.
Strategy by /u/Levister23
Note: A friend of mine sent me this strategy, and I'm happy to include it, on his behalf, I hope it helps you out very much!
The easiest spot to train on Kino der Toten is the stage area. It works best in solo, and the perks to use are the original 4. The weapons you want are the Zeus cannon (Thundergun) and another point gun of your choice.
Simply loop around that area while (preferably, as it gets you out of corners) holding the Thundergun. When all 24 zombies are on the map, you can fire away! If you get to a high enough round where this stops working, train in the stage, as before, but when you have a full horde use the trap connected to the mp5k room or the one related to spawn. Then make your way back the stage. The best way to do this is:
If you used the trap near spawn, go upstairs (right)
If you used the mp5k room trap, go around to spawn and through the long hallway from spawn.
If in co-op. The most viable, yet admittedly difficult spots to train are in spawn, in the room to the left of spawn, the area in front of the stage, and the mp40 room.
If camping, the strategy I use is to leave the door to the left side of the map closed and camp at the base of the stairs. This way all the zombies are in a straight line and, of need be, you can escape through the door to the stage.
Another spot to camp is in the upper corner in the mp40 room (also a great dog round camping spot) near the stakeout.
You can also camp in the last room to the right side without opening the door to the stage. This is probably the easiest spot.
Maximizing Points
For easy-to-follow, detailed and helpful guides on how to maximise points and XP in the early rounds and for the whole game, please read my other posts: The Knifing Strategy and Advanced Knifing. Note: Those guides were made for Black Ops 3, you may need to adjust the techniques.
There are two good point whoring methods for round 1/2. Method 1: On round 1, knife all the zombies but don't shoot them and on round 2, start to shoot them in groups (x4+ points) Method 2: Shoot your clips into them on round 1 and repeat the process.
When knifing, please use this technique for best results: Advanced Knifing.
Survival
Training is one of the most essential and universal skills that any Zombies map will ever ask of the player. If you aren't familiar with training, It essentially boils down to running in circle movements around an area which means you can control the Zombies position. Learning how to train properly will be a great asset to your games and once you are comfortable, you can get more creative and sophisticated with your training strategies, mainly, you can learn how to train in smaller/tighter areas or begin to cut your trains, run through separated Zombies and train with no weapons/equipment.
A great tip for Black Ops 1 if you feel like being a medic is to get the ballistic knife and upgrade it. When you shoot a downed player with the knife, you'll revive them instantly!
Other things to always do if you want an easier experience to include:
- Use the traps
- Buy Claymores
- Buy Bowie Knife
- Get Monkey Bombs
- Get the Ray Gun
- Get the Thundergun/Zeus Canon
Author's Notes
Thanks for taking the time to read this guide! All of the guides I've created and am still creating do take a lot of time, work and effort so I greatly appreciate all of the support I've received! Along with that, I do appreciate all of the feedback and help I get with edits, fixes and improvements!
Again, thanks for reading this guide and I hope it helped! I plan on going through all of the Zombies maps starting with Black Ops 1 going through to Black Ops 2 and then go back round to World at War.
Notes
Thanks to all the people who commented or messaged me with the odd fix here and there, I couldn't have perfected the guide without your help!
